Assembling the Body:

Top and back are ready to make into a complete body:

top and back ready.jpg (78164 bytes)

The end blocks are glued to the top (I build in a way which

is similar to the traditional Spanish method:  on a solera)

gluin end blocks.jpg (63318 bytes)

Then the sides to the blocks and top:

Then sides are cut to the correct height using a radius board

and the linings for the back are glued on:

And they are sanded to correct shape with a radius board:

Then the back is fitted and the notches for the back braces are cut:

Then rib braces are glued on and the back is glued on:

The body is assembled:

Now, we have to cut into the beautiful body for the

end graft and the binding and purfling:

Then the binding and purfling are glued on (then sanded out):

And then the neck dovetail recess is cut:

and the neck glued on (I glue on the neck before finishing.):

And you have a complete guitar, "in the white," (with no finish):

And then the guitar goes to finishing and final stages:   FINAL STEPS
