Wisteria on our pergola over the hot tub:
Jamie eating his favorite food: donut holes:
Sleepy head, riding his "camel", goofing around
Hotwheels, Jeff and Nannette Sorenson's
Drawing with driveway chalk:
Biking on the Gateway Trail
Minnesota Zoo:
Butterfly garden at the zoo:
Our friend Marvin and his Grandma Kim:
Willow River State Park in Wisconsin near the Twin Cities: Very nice hike (rock climber is near the falls):
Making friends with "Kix"
We went to a St. Paul Saints game in early August, luckily it was a cool night: Jamie and Joe loved it. Jamie got a baseball! (A ball-boy handed it to him.)
In mid-August, we spent a quiet and relaxing week at the cabin of Jim's two brothers, Charlie and Jon. The cabin is near Emily, Outing, and Cross Lake
The cabin is close to Mitchell Lake, where we had a lake cabin when I was young and also near Eagle Lake
Walking on River Lane near the cabin. The fourth shot shows Joe standing by the pine trees that Jim and his family planted as seedlings when he was a boy.
Our first outing was to Itasca State Park which contains the source of the Mississippi River. Some shots are Phyllis, Joe, and Jamie crossing the Headwaters.
Our next trip was to the Shingobee Trail near Walker, MN and Leech Lake: Red pine bark:
Our next trip was paddling up Crooked Creek from the Mitchell Lake boat ramp. There was lots of wild rice in the creek. Also a water lily we picked in the lake: Jamie's favorite activity is throwing rocks at the boat ramp:
Then we hiked the Dahlstrom Ridge trail in the Pillsbury State Forest, near Brainerd:
Our last outing was a canoe circumnavigation of Eagle Lake (and more rock-throwing):
Jamie the Builder at home. He's going to be an engineer I think ...
